I attract many business owners, entrepreneurs and high performers in my practice and one thing remains true with all of them, they all put an incredible amount of pressure on themselves to achieve the results they get in their life and that pressure has consequences.
Thinking about change and taking action can be very challenging for most of us. Many of us sabotage ourselves and let our fears dominate our actions. In the therapy room, everything is about self discovery, healing and taking complete accountability for our mindset in life.
Living a courageous and authentic life is something most of us desire and yet we hold ourselves back from living without regret and full expression of ourselves.
Many of my clients struggle with critical self talk, self sabotage and limiting beliefs, all which contribute to a great deal of stress, anxiety and depression.
The invitation in therapy and coaching is to consider how they approach self development, including their attitude towards growth and adversity in life. The mindset we aim for is, we are all imperfect and yet, we strive for growth, we strive for more self awareness and we become motivated to deeply know ourselves. It is from this place of knowing ourselves that we can truly change and connect to our inner wisdom.
Therapy and coaching is a journey of self discovery and can be an extremely powerful way to create a growth mindset and develop a new story of how we see ourselves in this world.
I use a psychodynamic psychotherapy approach in combination with being incredibly intentional and focused on our mindset through coaching.
This style is effective for undoing past unconscious patterns, limiting beliefs and sabotaging behaviors, while moving you forward towards your future self.
I believe strongly in helping people to embrace the present moment, accepting themselves with a renewed sense of purpose and that all the wisdom in the world lives within you already. We just have to find
Psychotherapy is proven method to enhance relationships, well-being and overall health. As a Gestalt Psychotherapist I am very experiential in my approach and weave in practical tools for achieving your goals.
Usually couples feel like they have tried everything already before coming to couples therapy.
I hope one day that everyone will go to marriage counselling in the very early days of their relationship, unfortunately there is still so much stigma with getting help for our relationships.
The biggest challenge I see in couples in a lack of belief in change (And it's usually a belief that their partner will not change).
They want to believe that things will change, but most deep down do not belief their partner will change. This is an equation for two people to feel an incredible amount of helplessness. That helplessness is the biggest challenge for couples and finding hope again is part of the process of couples counselling.
I believe in empowerment in relationships and that begins with shifting our attention to taking a massive amount of accountability for how you are showing up and focus on the one thing they can control, yourself.
Amazing things can happen in a relationship when two people put in an incredible amount of positive energy into their connection.
I have extensive couples therapy training (Gottman, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Relational Life Therapy Couples Focused, & Gestalt Couples Therapy)
Most of my focus in couples therapy is on communication, conflict resolution and relational coaching to empower couples to get the relationship they both want. I specialize in re-building connection, enhancing communication and building strong relationship habits.
I use a combination of teaching, coaching and therapy to help couples create a culture of great communication and intimacy.
Nobody gets taught how to repair in their relationships and disconnection is going to happen. Learning how to integrate new communication skills and developing your ability to be present is essential for couples to thrive.
You can learn more about how I support my couples through the Gottman Method in One Life's guide to Choosing the Right Psychologist in Calgary for Your Marriage Counselling.

Growing up, I was the shy kid, the dreamer, I loved being outside, I was a true nature baby at my core. I was also the kid that everyone told their secrets to and witnessed and experienced quite a bit of messy situations in my youth.
I had moments of great connection and then I had moments full of disconnection and suffering. I always asked deeper questions of life, you know the kinda stuff like “Why are we here and what’s the point of all of this”? “Where do we go when we die and why isn’t anyone else talking about this”? (At least my family and circles were not talking about this).
That curiosity grew as a teenager and in my early twenties it led me to some pretty amazing places both abroad and within myself.
When I found psychology and spirituality, I literally became obsessed with personal growth and human potential and I set out to learn from as many guides, masters and teachers as I could.
Anyone who knows me well, knows I have strong inner wanderlust and that has led me to many places around the world. Right before taking my psychotherapy training, I was travelling abroad and studying meditation with monks in Thailand, soaking up wisdom in Ashrams in Nepal and India and eventually living in a small Tibetan community where I intensely practiced meditation for 14hrs a day.
I learned one of the greatest lessons of my life here with my friends in this Tibetan village, that home is within yourself. I found a very deep peace within after this experience and became really focused on mindfulness and cultivating a growth mindset.
After this experience abroad I knew that I wanted to help others find their inner peace and best life, which led to me enrolling in a powerful psychotherapy program in Toronto called The Gestalt Institute of Toronto.
It was here that I learned how to weave the art of here and now into helping people grow and reach new heights in their self development.
After studying in this post-graduate psychotherapy program I started a private practice in Toronto and eventually moved to Alberta where I have been practicing psychotherapy and coaching for the last 10 years.
My philosophy is this is deeply sacred work and I feel truly honoured to serve and walk alongside my clients in their journey. It's a privilege that I feel grateful for everyday.
